As a first time visitor to great wall, which part should I visit - Badaling or Mutianyu great wall

I just returned from Beijing. On the 2nd of February, my family and I try to take the public bus 919 Badaling-Great Wall from the bus station. Unfortunately, we were told that the buses only run in the morning until 12 noon. Is it because it is winter or near Chinese New Year?
