About:China Visa

My husband is French but living in the UK> He is due to go on a cietific expidition round China in the next couple of weeks but they won't approve his visa. Does anyone know why this may be? Is it because he's French? He has provided a schedule of where he will be going, a letter from the trip organiser in China, proof of hotel bookings and they have approved everyone else's visa on his trip. Can anyone help - it is so frustrating.

Mrs.Gozlan, does your husband has the residence permit or work permit or other certificate in UK which entitles him to stay in UK ofr a long time?

The visa officer has the right to refuse visa application without explaination.

He is a European citizen and doesn't need any papers to work in the UK. It is so disappointing that this has happened as he was really looking forward to going and it was a big thing for the whole family. It would be nice to have an explanation why!

Mrs.Gozlan, I have much sympathy for you! I understand that it is nice if the visa officer can give an explanation, however, as I know, the visa officer refuses the application without any explaination. I can't understand why the rules exisit!
