About:China Train

good afternoon from Prague,
please only information to travel from Beijing to Xi-an in August by f. e. Z19 .
We would like a cabin soft sleeper, it is for 4 people
Our family are 5, the youngest is seven - if we don’t need extra bed for him- is he free ?

For your reference: if the child is below 1.1 meters, he is free since one adult can take a kid under 1.1 meters for free according to the regulations of the train station in China. If the child is between 1.1meters and 1.4meters tall, he/she needs to pay half price of the soft seat. Above 1.4meters, then the full price for one soft seat should be paid.
