@Mr. Jaime.  Thank you for the info.  My original plan is June 25 to 28. If I shorten that to June 25 to 27, do you think it is enough time to explore Zhangjiajie since we take the direct flight to ZJJ to save travelling time? Can you suggest what we should do first on the first 2 days?  Thanks again.

June25 - 27 in Zhanjiajie is enough. Ticket for Zhangjiajie Forest Park is valid for two days. It means you can go into and out for several time. There are many sights inside there. You will spend your first two days all in the scenic area.
