About:Marriage Registration in China

i have been married for 3 years to a chinese and worked in china for 10 yrs. i cant get a clear definition on the maximum visa time given in china. the local office said one month, then another person in the same office said 3 months. some say 3 months and some say that after 5 years of marriage then a 1 year visa can be given. i intend to stay in china. advice?

there is no simple answer to this issue, the visa regulations vary from place to place, from person to person, in principal, you can get a L visa because your wife is Chinese, but you can't stay in China for more than 180 days per entry, I mean that L visa only permits you to stay in China for 180 days at most for each entry. If your marriage lasts 5 years and annual stay duration in China is not less than 9 months, you can apply for permanent residence permit, which is valid for 5 years.
