I entered China in 2006 first with a L Visa, later I extended with a 6 month business visa. I understood 1 year and so after checking later, I already overstayed 5 1/2 month. i was afraid ant thought they will put me in jail for that for sure. Today I know that I had to go earlier, but I now cant change things and overstayed now 4 1/2 years. I have to say that I planed to stay for 5 years from the beginning. Now my passport is not longer valid. I have to say that I did not wirk in China. I was here to may start a business but after I realize that it will not work I decide to do a break. I payed my rent and everything in time. I payed with my money from Europe by using Nastercard. So how long do I have to calculate to have a break in prison? I am in Shanghai. What about the Passport? My plan is first to go to the Embassy to apply for a new passport and than walk to the PSB with 5000 rmb in my hands and a flight ticket to get out of here...will that work? What do you think?
