Question

My wife will get a working permit for China, me as a family member do I get a working permit immediatlly as well even if I'm not employed by this company? Can I do consultancy work with project from 2-3 month in the Shenzhen area?

you can't get a work permit if you are not employed by this company, you can apply for dependant visa as accompanying members of your wife if she obtains the work visa, you can work in China as the accompanying family members.
