How many attractions are you going to visit? Better offer us a list and then we may help you with your itinerary.

Dear Mr.John,
My question was not clear.
I saw in TCG pages that in Xian and surroundings there is plenty of attractions but I suppose it has no sense for a tourist to try to visit all of them, so my question had to be considered as:
How many days should I plan to visit Xian attractions worth to be visited for a first time tourist in the region?
I have a total of 16 days to visit Beijing and Xian (including domestic transport) and I need to decide how many days for each town so to be able to book hotels.

Frank,

I think that you need at least 4 or 5 days if you want to have a through understanding of Xi’an City and its long history. I still it is a good idea to list some attractions that you want to visit and then we will know how many days you need to spend visiting them.

Ni hao Mr.John,
I tried to order my wishes: surely I'm interested in visiting at least the following central sights (Bell & Drum Towers, Forest Stone Steles Museum, City Wall, Big Wild Goose Pagoda, Shaanxi Hist. Museum, Xian Mus., Little Wild Goose Pagoda, Moslem Str., Great Mosque) and those in the surroundings (Qin Shi Huang Mausoleum & Terra Cotta Warriors, Qianling Mausol., Liu Qi Mausol.); furthermore I'd like to visit Longmen Caves in Luoyang!
I'm worried about how bad weather can affect planning, as I read that Summer is a rainy season and surely under the rain it is not comfortable nor easy to visit open air attractions.

Which is the best way to go Xian from Shanghai?
Does the train take too long? Any other city in the way to stop and spend a couple of days?

Hi Alfredo, It is suggested that you take a flight from Shanghai to Xian. The fastest train will take you about 16 hours, taking a long time.

Mr.Frank,
Day 1 City Wall, Bell and Drum Tower, Great Mosque, Moslem Street
Day 2 Forest Stone Steles Museum, Xi’an Museum and Small Wild Goose Pagoda
Day 3 Shaanxi History Museum and Big Wild Goose Pagoda
Day 4 Qianling Mausol., Liu Qi Mausol
Day 5 Qin Shi Huang Mausoleum & Terra Cotta Warriors. If you are interested, you may go to visit Huaqing Hot Springs.

Well, if you are energetic, you can finish Day 2 and Day 3’s places just in one day. To visit Longmen Caves, you may take G trains from Xi’an to Zhengzhou. The train passes by Luoyang-Longmen. It is faster but the ticket is expensive.
