About:China Embassy in Thailand

Do I have to be a resident of Thailand or hold some special Thai visa to get an F visa for China processed at a Thai embassy?

As I know, the visa officer of China embassy in Thailand will refuse to issue China visa to applicants who are not resident in China. You can have a try to apply for China visa. Generally speaking, it is not hard for USA citizens to get a China visa in a third country/region.
