HI, my tour package shows 1 day Badaling great wall tour includes Ming tomb.We have option to upgrade to Mutianyu (instead of Badaling), we are billeted in downtown Beijing, will Mutianyu be a whole day tour ? If not, what other place can we replace Ming tomb with ? Can you pls suggest ?Thanks in advanced.

Hello,Mr.TGInstead of Badaling & Ming Tomb tour, you can have a Mutianyu & Hongluosi tour. Both of these two options are good. If you want a typical Beijing tour for the first time, i suggest the first one. But if you to see a real wall, i mean, a wild and natural Great Wall, i suggest the second route. Whatsoever, i bet you will have a great trip!

ming tomb usually is part of badaling great wall tour.. but instead of badaling i would like to go to mutianyu and at the same time go to ming tomb.. is this possible.. is it too far?

Thanks Daphne/Mrs Li,yes, Mutianyu was fantastic, it was fogging when we were there though. We did ming before heading to Mutianyu. MIng can be finished in 30-45 mins then Mutianyu is around 2hrs(we did hike n take picture on 1 side of the stretch which is around 12 towers). Tour guides make you attend side trips which takes longer. YOU have to go thru that exercise but some of them are interesting. Start early since traffic going back to downtown.  I day is more than enough.
