About:Chinese Consulate in San Francisco

I have a US Citzen since 1976. I was born in 1952 in China but left China in 1955 with my family (I was a toddler at the age under 3). Then we came to the US in 1968.
At the end of this year, I am planning to join one of the Chinese Assoicatin (Gee How Oak Tin Association) to Taishan, Guang Dong, China from Sept 22 to Sept 26. Then we might go to Shanghai Expo if time is available. I wish I can visit my home counrty because I don't have any memory about China. Many friends have encouraged my to go but I am fear to go alone but with a group is ok.
My problem is getting my Chinese Visa becasue I do not have any proof for the period in China between 1952 to 1955. My parents told there was no document to prove, but I did obtain a Chinese in 1987 and visit Shenzen around April 22 or 23 in 1987. However, I cannot locate that passport with the Chinese Visa Attached because my US passport has been renewed twice since 1987. I did obtain my Chines Visa at the San Francisco location.
Please advise me what am I supposed to do in getting my new visa? I only have US passport and never carried another passport. ( I was a minor when I came to the US.)
Please advise. Thank you

Ms. Alice wong, I understand your situation, For China visa application, applicant who was formerly Chinese and has acquired a new US passport, if there is a Chinese visa in the old passport, shall submit his old US passport or the photocopy of the Chinese visa, however, you don't have your old US passport which has the stamp of Chinese visa.

The only option is that you don't provide them, apply for China L visa as a USA passport holder, maybe you will be issued a Chinese visa. It is easy for USA citizens to get a Chinese visa.

Thank you Mr. Bob. I have one more question on the application 3.5, have you ever visited China before? What am I supposed to answer 'yes' or 'no'? I visited Shenzhen only for few hours in 1987 (23 years ago) but I can't find that old passport with the Chinese Visa attached? (I have renewed my US passport twice since 1987). Will the China Embassy still have my record? Please let me know. Thank you.

Ms.Alice Wong, sorry to reply so late, hope it is still helpful, you can write no on the application 3.5 have you ever visited China before? Just apply for China visa like the native USA citizens because you can't provide the original Chinese passport or the photocopy of the information page of the passport or the previous China visa on your former USA passport.
