what the heck she seems kinda carless because who would kill their duaghter just to do better what is with this woman!!!

Standard operating procedure for emperors. It wasn't a job for nice guys. You might say she was a lousy human being, but compared to other emperors she was definitely above average, especially when it came to the peasantry.

I believe there is an element of true. However, with Xiao Shu Fei and Empress Wang breathing down her neck, who knows what fate awaited her if she didn't do that. It easy to condemn someone but who knows what you would do if in her place
