About:Ancient Chinese Marriage Custom

Are arranged marriages still a common procedure? or is the more westernised view of marriage common? (2 people meet, and decide to marry out of their own will).

Include dates/years if possible.

I'd say it is the latter case now in China. People have free will on their marriage. Say, China is more open and free since its openning up to the outside world. i guess things began to change a lot around those years.

parents always think of security for their son or daughter first. its a chinese custom for you to buy a house/appartment in china to show your worth and stability to the parents.
