Am going to be in Xian in October 2010. Would like to visit Mt Huashan North Peak area to experience scenery but am not a climber and only want to spend about 1/2 day. Is it worth just taking the cable car up. Are there easy trails from there for people scared of heights but who want to experience a bit of the scenery? Any suggestions welcome. Thanks

Hi,
Hotels at the peak areas are not advisable. No water, no toilet, no bathroom. Even at what they call the best hotel (East Peak Hotel)is not advisable. The price is extremely high: 900 yuan/night. The personnel is not friendly! If the best "hotel" is not equipped with bathroom and toilet could you emagine how the other hotels are!!

Absolutely,
have been to hua shan three times previously (i am 58 years old and have travelled alone and with my children). No problem for you to take cable car up and wander around and thenback down cable car. do not miss. in fact i will be on the mountain with 43 other friends.
enjoy!!!!
