Beijing and Xian is quite dry during this period. A lot of rain this year in South China, including Sichuan and HUnan. Yunnan is fine, just recover from severe drought a few months ago. I think Beijing has many historical great buildings to see, but really a painful experience to see Great Wall, Forbidden City and Temple of Heaven in especially Auguest.
