When you exit the arrival hall, you will see in front of you, a long list of taxis, queueing up to pick passengers on the other side of the road.
So, the easy way is to cross the road (about 15 feet wide road), and get to the queue. It will take about 30-45 mins to reach your destination, and will approx cost you RMB 100-RMB 120.
One thing you must note is that you need to state your destination very clearly. If possible, print out the Chinese characters of your destination, and the map that shows the location.
The other method of getting there (and much cheaper, and approx same duration taken), is to take a bus.
Same thing - when you exit the arrival hall, you will see plenty of nice looking air-cond buses plying the front of the arrival hall. Look for Line 5, (it's at column #3), and ask the lady conducting the line for confirmation that it is going to HaiZhu Guang Chang (Haizhu plaza). It'll cost you RMB 20/per head.
The bus is a loop-bus, with "end terminal" at Hai Zhu. That's the place almost everyone will drop. And besides, they will make announcements so, you needn't be worried.
When you drop off the bus, you will see GuangZhou Hotel right in front of you. And there will be lots of touts, asking if you want rooms.
When you stand in the lobby of GuangZhou Hotel, looking outside, the road in front is Tai Kang Road. Guang Zhou Hotel is at one end of this Tai Kang Road. At the other end of Tai Kang Road is your hotel, the Grand Continental Svc Apartments. (Arrival/Check in lobby is on 22nd floor).
The walk from GuangZhou Hotel to Grand Continental Svc Apt will be about 10 mins, depending on how fast you walk. You will see hardware, sanitary ware, food stalls, etc along the walk way.
Recommendation : If you have a lot of luggage - take taxi.
If you travel light and have to pull just one luggage, you might as well take the bus.
Beijing Lu is just behind your hotel, about 5 mins walk.
Good luck.
