dear sir, i am a uk passport holder on a 90 day landing permit in japan. i am on holiday here in japan. please could you let me know if i can obtain a chinese tourist L visa in japan. i would like to take the ferry to shanghai. i am in nagoya. do i need to travel to tokyo chinese embassy or can i go to a travel agency in nagoya. i have been to a couple of agencies so far who were not able to help and i have been to the chinese consulate in nagoya. do you know roughly how long it takes to process the application?many thanks

You can apply for China tourist visa at the Consulate General of China in Nagoya because you have the 90 days landing permit in Japan. Now, the alien registration, landing permit and Japan visa are accepted for China visa application if aliens(except Japan)want to apply for China visa in Japan. It takes 4 working days for visa application.
