Do you want to get a multiple-entry visa to USA or a multiple-entry visa to Mainland China?

I am working as a consultant with a USA based company. I am on a Business Visa to China on behalf of the company and my Visa presently is a double entry Visa. I will continue to work in China for 3 more months.
During this period, I intend visiting Hongkong many times. But since my Visa is only double entry, my movement is restricted.
Moreover, since I am from India (with an Indian Passport issued in Mumbai) I would like to visit India more than 2 times during this period and go back to China. Hence I would require a multiple entry Visa to China to re-enter China via Hongkong.
I would like to make an application for multiple entry Visa to China, when I visit India. I can produce an invitation letter from Deloitte China (My USA company's Chinese arm) requesting for multiple entry Visa for me. Will that be good enough to apply for a multiple entry Visa when I come to India? Can I get a multiple entry Visa to China on that basis?

Mr.Vijay Viswanathan, you can apply for multiple-entry business visa if you have the invitation letter from your USA company in China and the a multiple entry visa notification issued by a duly authorized Chinese organization in China. Your USA company in China can get the visa notification for you, otherwise, you can't get a multiple-entry visa in India.
