About:Terracotta Army, Xian

Well, I'm in fifth grade and we have to do a report on the terracotta warriors. Personally there is alot more info on this website than there is on Wikipedia. But just wondering what are the pits.

Hi,
In dictionary, Pit is refered to as a natural or artificial hole or cavity in the ground. In Terracotta Warriors Museum, the terracotta armies and horses are just standing in the holes, or say the pits. Just see the first picture on the right of this page.
