About:Tianjin Transportation

Hello

I posted this question about 10 days ago but have not received a reply. I would be very grateful if someone could answer this for me. Thank you.

I need to travel from Xingang port to Beijing. I have read many of your questions and answers but have not seen any mention of using the Jinbin Light Railway which appears to run from very close to the port through to Tianjin Station. From the map it would seem simple to get a taxi to the nearest station (what is the name of it ?)(about 3 miles) and take this train to Tianjin Station to get a fast train to Beijing.
This would save a large taxi fare to Tianjin - and for me, would be more interesting.
Is this as simple as it appears or have I missed something here ?
Please advise.

It is not a good idea to use the Light Rail unless you would like to experience the local transportation. Well, when you arrive at Xingang Port, you should take a cab to Tanggu station of the Light Rail firstly. Then, you could take the light rail to Zhongshanmen station, from where you should take another cab (about 20 minutes) to reach Tianjin Railway Station. Very complicated, especially with baggages.

On the other hand, at the Tanggu Railway Station, there are five bullet trains departing to Beijing everyday. This railway station is located very close to Xingang Port; however, not easy to purchase a train ticket on the spot.
