Mr.CHUMPOL,

Please read this travel review. I guess that it is helpful to you.

Note that the long distance bus station is located to the west of Datong Railway Station Square.

From Hanging Temple to Yingxian Wood Pagoda, you may take bus back to Hunyuan (浑源) and then take bus from Hunyuan to Yingxian (应县). If you do not know where to take the bus, please ask the driver. He may tell you where to take a bus to Yingxian from Hunyuan.

There are trains between Datong and Beijing many trains a day. Does you hotel mean no train tickets?! If you do not visit in busy holidays, the trains ticket is not difficult to buy a coupld a days earlier. There are trains back to Beijing from Datong late in the evening. It may not easy to find a cab back to Beijing. You can take bus, yes the last bus seems to be at 4pm.

How long it takes, what are its timetables/frequency, is there only one bus, what number or identifier? where to take it, on what road or point? Moreover, does it get full and possibly doesn't stop during Chinese Holidays?

Are there also buses from Yingxian to nearby towns on the West?

Thank you.

I remember the bus from Hunyuan Long-distance Bus Station to Yingxian takes about 1h and CNY16 or so. And it still runs during holidays. Oh, the bus departs every 60mins. Sorry but I don’t remember the timetable. As for the other buses, you can ask the staff of the station.
