Unless specifically requested by you in your completed application form and approved by consular officers, a single-entry visa is valid for 3 months, and a double-entry visa valid for 6 months, both with a 30-day duration of stay. You can write your planned stay in China. I think that you should apply for tourist visa if you go to China just for visiting your girlfriend.

thank you so much..

Do you think there is a chance that the consular officers will approve my request for 40 days staying in Beijing? Where i will write my plan for staying in china? on the application form?

yes, write your planned stay duration on the visa application form, you'd better provide the two-way flight tickets to prove your planned stay duration in China.

Thank so much Mr.Charles, i have another question how about 41 days? it is ok even it is odd numbers? because 41 days I am planning to stay there. We think that 30 days i planned and then we will extend it there on beijing do you think that is ok too?

yes, you can ask for 41 days stay in China, the final decision is up to the visa officer. The other option is that you get a single entry visa permitting 30 days stay in China, then extend it in Beijing.

Mr.Garcia, first, you should make sure that you get the extension of stay duration, in fact, the local Exit & Enter Department will issue you a new visa with 0 ENTRIES, and 11 days stay duration, you should apply for the extension before your visa expires, if you can't get it, you have to exit China when the 30 days stay is up, if you can get it, you have to change the flight ticket to another date.
