About:China Customs Declaration

I'm traveling to China and will be bringing with me a US smartphone (for which I will use for wifi/e-mail) and another phone (a cheap one for which I will pick up a Chinese SIM for). Do these phones need to be declared. I also plan on bringing 3 cameras for personal use (SLR, compact and video). Do these need to be declared as well?

Mr.Connelly,

You definitely need to declare them to the customs.

You can only bring 1 camera into China and 1 phone make sure you declare them or you will have lots of problems , also the duty for more than 1 camera is very expensive. It's cheaper to buy one there or go to a Kodak shop and rent one from them.
