Hi,

How long can i stay in china for using a 回乡证 to enter?

I want to use 回乡证 to enter china so i can find a job there.
so obviousy i dont have a letter from any company to get a working visa.
Once i have found a job, can i use my british passport to apply for the working visa in china
without having to leave the country?
so basically enter china using 回乡证 then find job then get working visa whilst in china under british passport

Mr.Sam, you should go to HK first, then enter Mainland China by using the 回乡证, on the 回乡证, is there stay duration specified on the permit? I guess that you can stay in Mainland China for a long time, I hear that some aliens can get a work visa within mainland China without leaving, but it is up to your employer.

I have entered china from uk using the 回乡证 before so i know i dont need to go to HK for that. It doesnt say how long i can stay for though.
What i am really asking is, once in china (using 回乡证 to enter) i can go to hk to get a working visa stamped into my uk passport without returnting to uk to do it (will i possibly encounter more problems)? i want to be protected by the uk embassy while i am working there.

Mr.Sam, yes, you can go to Hk to apply for work visa stamped on your UK passport because you hold the 回乡证
