Hi i want to visit my Friend in Nantong, and I read here that from shanghai i could take a bus to Nantong. Is there a way that I could go directly to the Nantong Port Area because my Friend is working on a ship that is currently at Nantong Port. Also, how about the accomodation in Nantong, I plan to check in a not so expensive hotel just for one night beacause i may go there on Saturday and be back in shanghai.

Port area is large and I suggest you get to Nantong first and then change another bus to your destination. Shanghai Long-distance Bus Terminal in the north square of Shanghai Railway Station.

Hi, Mr Velon, no direct transportation except taxi, but it will be extraordinarily expensive. I think you should still follow my previous post. Get to take bus to Nanjing. The bus station you reach in Nanjing is close to 1 Zhongyuan Road. You can just take a taxi.
