About:China Tourist Visa

I'm a malaysia passport holder currently staying and working in singapore, as such i would like to submit my application through china embassy singapore for a tourist visa.
I would like to do travelling in Sichuan Tibet Yunnan provinces in aug2010 - nov2010 which would take me approximately 3 to 3.5 mths' time. And i will be doing this alone.
However, i'm not sure what type of tourist visa would be able to allow me for such period of stay in china without any assistance from business / government /academic institution.
Does anyone have any experience with these issues?

Mr. soh, An approval notice from China Tibet Tourism Bureau is required if you intend to travel to the Tibet Autonomous Region (Telephone number for the Tourism Bureau: 86-891-6834313, fax number: 86-891-6834632). It is complex for you to get the Tibet Entry Permit in person, you'd better contact a qualified Travel Agency in China which can get the Tibet Entry Permit for you.

If you won't get assistance from a travel agency in China which issue you an Itinerary to prove that you will stay in China for about 4 months, it is hard for you to get a tourist visa which permits you to stay in China for 3 - 3.5 months continuously.

You'd better not mention that you will visit Tibet on the visa application form. Generally speaking, Chinese embassy issues single entry tourist visa valid for 3 months, permits 30 days after entry.
