Hi I am currently in China on a work permit Z visa for 6 months which ends soon . I would now like to rather work with the company on a consultancy basis from now on. Can I change the Z visa to a business  F visa with long duration of stay in China?

Mr.Ryan, it is up to the agreement between you and your company, if you company can send you an Invitation Letter and the original version of visa notification from an authorized Chinese Government Department (your company can apply for it for you), then you can change the Z visa to F visa. Your company should help you to do this.
