Question from : Ms GraceI and two friends plan to visit Guilin March 27 to March 30th 2010.  Is Lakeside Inn Guilin convenient to stay and accessible to go tour Elephant Trunk Hill, Fubo Hill, and also shopping on our own?  Where is the best place to book Li River cruise for 1 day and what is the reasonable rate for 1 adult?In this cruise, how is the route to come back to Guilin, by bus ? and do the package also include a tour guide and lunch?How is the weather that time and how much do we need for food (local and maybe Mac Donalds)  How much average souvenier cost, like t-shirt? purse?

The inn is easy accessilbe to Elephant Hill and Fubo Hill and easy to go to shopping, for Zhengyang Str, Jiefang East Road and Zhongshan middle Road are gathered around this place. You can get there 桂林市福旺苑38号 to buy cruise ticket and better one day in advance. Yes, take bus to get back to Guilin. It include lunch. Dry season of Guilin is till the end of march, so, I guess the cruise ship can not take you to Yangshuo, but only the most beautiful part of the river. You can get the latest information when you buy ticket. Not far away from your hotel in Yiren Road, there is a MacDonalds restaurant. For souvenies, that depends. Generally, they are 20-30 yuan. Negotiate the price according to the quality.

Thanks, Ms Cindy.Where is the place you can recommend to have chinese food or maybe a bit of western food for breakfast,lunch,dinner.  Is it cheap to take a taxi to Elephant Hill / Fubo Hill.What about Seven Star Park? How much to pay for entrance fees for these 3 places?How much is the Li river cruise for each pax?What is there to visit in Yangshuo and is it cheap to buy souveniers.Can we bargain for souveniers in Guilin / Yangshuo?What about night time in Guilin?  Does the shops close early?Appreciate your great info given. thanks again.

Ms Cindy, hi.actually what I meant on negotiating the souveniers, cos I do not exactly know how much a t shirt cost, the price range in Guilin or Yangshuo so eg. if price is maybe 100 yuan, then how low can I go down on the negotiation. thanks for your feedback.by the way,would you recommend the Lakeside for our stay as I did read some good reviews on this. thanks again.

Hi Gochaisi, it will be a good idea to stay in a hotel along the riverside. Of course, there are some good hotels in downtown Guilin, which have charming scenery as well. I think you could refer to this website's hotel recommedations in Guilin.It is not far from downtown Guilin to these scenic spot, so taking a taxi is reasonable with friends.
