For 4 people to go from Xiaoshan Airport to Shanghai is it cheaper by Taxi? What is the cost? How many hours?  Where do I take the bullet train to go to Shanghai?

No, it is not cheap by taxi at all. If you want to take bullet train, you should take airport shuttle to Hangzhou Railway Station first. It takes 40 minutes or so from the airport to the train station and about 1 hours 45 minutes by bullet train from Hangzhou to Shanghai.
