Ms. Ann, yes, you should apply for F visa, it takes 4 working days, you can take back your passport and visa on the fourth day counted from the day of submission, if you apply for rush service of 1 working day processing, you can pick it up on the same day. please submit your visa application as soon as the visa office opens in the morning if you want to apply for rush service.

I am hired as foriegn specialist. I am from Australian visiting Ukraine, I have a 6 months visa. I don't know if Chinese embassy will allow me to apply from here. I have a inivitation and all the requirements from Chinese company. can i go in and apply together with my wife and will she be given a visa?

Ms.Ann, the requirements for F visa (study in China for less than 6 months) are:
1. Applicant's passport with blank pages and at least 6 months validity left before expiration.
2. A truly and completely filled application form affixed with one passport-sized photo.
3. An admission notice from the Chinese school is required
4. an approved Foreign Student Visa Application Form (JW101 or JW202) issued by the Chinese authorized unit.
