I don't know other's experience. I went there in 2009 and took bus 936. The bus took visitors to Hongluo Temple and I asked the bus driver. He said the final destination was Mutianyu Great Wall, so you'd better consult the bus driver first because there are many 936 branch lines which make passengers difficult to choose one.
