About:Passport

Hello, I am a Chinese passport holder, my passport will expire in Aug 2011. I am living and working in Fakland Islands, but there is no Chinese Consulate in the Islands, could I replace/extend my Chinese passport in China as I will go back to Shanghai next month?

Thank you very much.

Ms.Meilin, doesn't your present passport is issued in Shanghai? If yes, you can go to Shanghai to replace your passport. Otherwise, you have to go to the city where your household registration is. For example, if your househould registration is in Xian, then you have to go to Xian to replace your passport.

Ms.Meilin, generally speaking, you should renew your passport within one year when it will expire. I mean that you should renew your passport after August 2010. The earliest time for you to renewing your passport time is August 2010.
