About:Chinese Embassy in Japan

Hello,

I am an American currently studying on exchange in Japan. I am hoping to obtain a Chinese tourism visa for a visit from 11 Mar to 19 Mar before returning to the States. I understand that I need to apply at the Chinese Embassy in Tokyo, however I am unable to reach the Embassy through email or phone with the following questions:

1. If I am unable to apply for the visa until 3 Mar, will I be able to obtain the visa in time for my departure on 11 Mar? (I understand there is a 4-day process, but I'm curious if there are any frequent exceptions to this, in which case I would need to make arrangements to come earlier)

2. The required documentation includes hotel arrangements -- would flight reservations suffice, or is the hotel information strictly required?

3. Am I able to charge the fee to a credit card?

4. Is the Embassy closer to Hiro-o or Roppongi station?

5. Will the Embassy be closed on 11 Feb for the Japanese National Holiday?

Any help would be great, thank you so much!

1. yes, you can get your visa on time for your departure on 11 March, if you submit your application on March 3, then you can ontain your visa on March 8. Generally speaking, there are not much exceptions. If something wrong takes place, then you can't get your visa in a month, or even refused.

2. For USA citizens, the flight tickets and hotel reservation are not required, your legal residence in Japan and its copy are required

3. I guess that you should pay for the fee in Cash, I don't know the means of payment for visa, you can check it when you submit visa application, the visa fee should be paid when you collect your visa.
