we will be stopping in Dalian in March, 2010 as one of the port stops on our Princess Cruise. what would be interesting to see? we want to see what is local and indigenous, stay away from lots of tourists and get a good local flavor of the area. we will only be there for one day, getting into port about 10:00am and leaving by 7:00pm

Your duration in Dalian is very short. I think you can wander around the downtown area of Dalian and have a taste of the local food. I am afraid there is not enough time for you to visit any site there.
