About:Chinese Embassy in Germany

I am an Irish Erasmus student living in Aachen. I am planning to visit and stay with friends in Shanghai from the 28 February to the 14th March. Do i have to go back to Ireland to apply for a visa or can I apply in Germany. If so,can I apply by post or will I have to travel to the embassy in person?

You can apply for Chinese visa at Consulate General of China in Frankfurt which has the consular jurisdiction of Aachen. You don't need to return to Ireland because you hold German student visa which permits you stay in Germany for a long time. You should submit visa application in person or ask someone else to apply for visa on your behalf.
