What Part of China you want to go to? Because basically a lot of tourist just make a Chinese visa in Hongkong. You can make that visa in Chinese Consulate in WanChai, Hongkong for express service (1 day) or common service (2-4 days), the fee depends on your nationality. From Hongkong you can take a lot of transportation service to enter China. You may want to bring your photo, because it's quite expensive if you take photo there. Otherwise you can just make your visa in Bali, give it to a good travel agency you trust, or you can go yourself to Jakarta or Surabaya and make your visa.
