About:Haikou Meilan Airport

I will be going to wenchang from London, UK. I am a british passport holder. Can anyone clarify to me that if I am able to obtain a visa on arrival rather than in embassy, and if so, how long can it last,can it last more than 15 days? Which airport is more convienent to wenchang? thanks a lot

The closest airport to Wenchang is the Haikou Meilan Airport; however, there is no direct flight in operation currently. So, you have to transfer at Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, etc. In this case, you should apply for a China visa from the embassy in advance.
Tips: For UK passport holders, they could enter into Haikou Airport without visa, but should participate in travel group of 5 or more members.

Thanks for the reply. I knew about group of 5 people can go to Hainan without visa thing. But there is only me and my 15 months old baby, Can't find group. I also knew I can apply a visa in advance, but this is quite expensive. So I was thinking if I am able to obtain a visa on arrival because that will work out cheaper. So, can anyone clarify to me that if it is at all possible to get visa on airport rather than in Embassy in UK? Thanks a lot
