About:Chinese Embassy in U.S.A.

I plan on traveling to China at the end of March. I have not booked my airfare yet. Do I need to have my plane ticket booked before I can apply for a visa? Do I also need to have hotel reservations book before I apply for a visa?

The fight ticket and hotel reservation are not required for USA citizens apply for Chinese visa. Please take your original passport, one completed visa application form affixed with one recent passport photo, then you can apply for tourist visa, if you want to apply for other types of Chinese visa, you need some documents issued from China, such as invitation letter from a Chinese company or authorized governmental office
