About:Baotou Travel

I am considering an offer to teach english in your city. I am wondering what the cost of living is like and what sort of questions a man from canada might ask of a potential employer?

Mr.Gokey, I'm considering a teaching job also in Baotou. Maybe we can save some money while we're there.

I taught at Baotou Teachers' College for two years beginning in 2006. I tend to live fairly frugally -- spent about 1500 yuan per month the first year and averaged about 700 yuan per month the second year. I'm sure it's possible to spend a lot more though.

Ask about the living arrangements. Make sure you get that nailed down ahead of time.

Get your residence permit in person in Baotou before your temporary visa is expired. Even if your school tells you otherwise, it's not enough to mail it to the police station in Baotou. You have to be there in person.

Hope that helps a little. Good luck with your adventure.

Just realized that might not be clear. I mean don't mail your passport to get the residence permit without being there in person.
