About:Jiuzhaigou Travel

Thinking about going over to Jiuzhaigou in May/June 2010.

I have read about people travelling to Huanglong and other nearby areas such as Emeishan. Am keen on the Panda Conservation Centre as well. Can any kind soul who has been to these areas suggest a itinerary lasting about 6-7 days?

Some of my key concerns include travelling from the Chengdu airport to Jiuzhaigou and accomodation at the various areas.

Thank you.

No direct connection from Chengdu Airport to Jiuzhaigou, unless you rent a van, but it is extrordinary expensive. If you travel alone, you can share a van or taxi with others, if not, you had better take direct flight from Chengdu to Jiuzhaigou, for the rental is somewhat the same as the air ticket. If you are a budget traveler, I suggest you take the morning bus from Chengdu Xinnanmen Bus Station to Jiuzhaigou, 10 hours. Spend two days in Jiuzhaigou and Huanglong. You can share taxis or rent a can between Jiuzhaigou and HUanglong, for the bus may be easy to catch. Stay one night in Jiuzhaigou and go to Honglong next day. go back to Songpan and prepare to take bus back to Chengdu, or you can stay one night there according to your time. Huanglong hotels are very expensive. The same bus station in Chengdu has direct bus to Emeishan, about 3 hours or so then get back next day. To see panda, you can get to the Chengdu Panda Breeding Center which is not far away from the city center. It can be reached by many city buses.
