About:China Visa

Hi,

I am planning to visit Hong Kong for a week. As I am an Indian Passport holder, the embassy website states that I can stay upto 14 days in Hong Kong without a visa. I have some friends there. Is it okay if I just go and stay with them for a week, since I wont be applying for visa, or do I have to get an invitation for that? If they have to sent me an invitation, I would prefer not bothering them and i am ready to stay in hotel. But since I dont need a visa, do I have to go to the embassy for something or can I just get an flight and go to Hong Kong? If I have to go to embassy, please tell me the procedures and also what all papers do I have to show them. Do I have to apply for anything else since there is no visa?

Mr. Zak, please don't worry, just take your original passport, financial certificate, completed Immigration Card to Hong Kong, the immigration offcers won't check very carefully for citizens who enjoy visa-exemption previlige, then you can visit Hong Kong for up to 14 days without a visa.

Thankyou Mr. Adam.
would you please tell me whats financial certificate? Is it the proof of money I m holding to support my stay there? Like my bank account? Or is it my monthly income certificate?

So I dont have to go to the embassy in India beforehand right? I can just catch a plane and go to Hong Kong and they will only check it at the arrival right?

Will you please also let me know whats Hong kong immigration card? I m sorry for asking so many questions, but I am very new to this.

Thanks in advance

Yes, the bank account is required, but sometimes, it is not checked by HK immigration officer, you'd better take it. You don't have to go to Chinese embassy in India, just catch a plane to go to HK and they will check you at the arrival time.
The return air ticket is required, you'd better book it before departure. You will fill the Hong Kong Immigration card when you arrive at Hong Kong International Airport, please son't worry, when you are in the airport, you will know the procedures.
