About:Great Wall History

I am research the connection between the Great wall of China and the Silk Routes of China, if any. Has anyone conducted such a research?

Well, indeed they had certain connections. For example, as far as I know, the Great Wall in Han Dynasty was built to protect the smooth trade on the Silk Road because the northern nomadic tribes would attack the land to the south of the wall from time to time.
