About:China Customs Declaration

Hi, Thank you all for the useful information you give to travelers.

I intend to visit friends in China several times this year (2010). I will be carrying my personal computer, camera, etc., when I arrive. I understand that I am allowed to have a computer, camera, etc., for my personal use when I enter China and do not have to declare these items.

What are the implications if I leave the computer and camera with my friend in China, instead of carrying them back and forth for each visit? Will I have problems when I exit China?

Of course I would bring them back to the U.S. after my final visit.

Hi,Mr.Andrewson
I don't think there is a problem if you leave the computer and camera to your friend in China. As they are all for personal use and not for busniess, there should be trouble. But to make sure, just ask the staff when you enter China.

Hello, Mr. Goodman,
Thank you for your reply. Your best advice is to ask the customs staff, when I enter China. I know I will enjoy my visits to China.
