hi, I be traveling from haikou to sanyo by train ( 5day/3night tour ) . Tentatively, taking TRAIN -K511, depart Haikou at 18:27 PM and reach sanya at 22:17 Pm , and -thinking of SOFT SEAT ticket. ( 2nd lowest ). I need your guys opinion/input  on this 1) where is the train station to catch a train at haikou ? 2) i be traveling at feb 2010. it that a peak period for getting a train.3) I reach 2 hour before depart time at the station and buy a ticket. Is is ok ? 4) Any other thing i need to take into consideration. Remark> take a train as a experience> first time in china and do not speak chinese. :) Thank and Regardsjn

Haikou Railway station can be reached by bus 28, 37，35，40. It take some 30 minutes from the city center of Haikou. It costs more than 50 yuan by taxi.   It is the peak season to visit Haikou, but I think it is fine to take train. Most travelers may choose to go by bus or rent a taxi together, it is conevient and need only 3 hours. Better to buy in advance. There are ticket office in the city center, you can buy in advance during your stay in Haikou before departure.

HI Jack and others Thank for your reply. Your info is very helpful to us. :) :) Per your info, look like getting a train is complicated. We will take a bus. May we know > we be in hainan from 5/2/2010 - 8/2/2010. Is the peak period started ?  >is there any festival during our stay ? We havn't fixed the day to stay in haikou and sanya. >what is the location of the ticket office in city center ? >If we reach haikou on 5/2/2010 morning and buy the tix for depart in the afternoon, what is the most convenient way of getting the tix - just go to bus station or buy at ticket office.
