About:Chinese Embassy in U.S.A.

I am living in Beijing and I have a tourist visa for China which expires shortly. I want to renew my visa for China in Germany while on vacation. I am a US citizen. Is this possible?

You can't renew your Chinese visa in Germany, once it is expired, you have to apply for a new Chinese visa.

You can have a try to apply for Chinese visa in Germany. I guess that you can get it because USA citizens can easily get a Chinese visa all over the world.
