About:Chinese Embassy in Philippines

please help me!! i already have all the documents to be submitted to have my China Visa. Bank cert (USD and Peso Acct), ITR, COE, Application Form, Picture, Invitation Letter from the invitor and government invitation. Then when i submitted all the requirements the agency told me that the china embassy didn't accept my docs coz i need to have the original copy of my passbook. Does it really need to have the copy of my passbook? Isn't sound funny coz some embassies don't require that only China. And the China Embassy website isn't accurate than I thought. Forum is more accurate. Please help me if i really need to submit my passbook. THey can call the Bank which I deposited my money.

yes, the original passport is required because the embassy will stampt visa on the visa page of your passport, if you don't want to provide your original passport, how does the embassy stampt the visa on your passport?
