Hi, I might be going to Beijing on February. I'm worried about been put on quarantine for the AH1N1 influenza. Do people traveling from Mexico with a tourist visa need some kind of medical certificate to either obtain the visa or to be given entrance to Beijing?

Upon your arrival, they will do a body check for you. If you are not with any abnormal signs, you won't be quarantined.

I have just returned from my second trip in 7 months. The inspection is thermal scan but in 4 separate entries at Shanghai, Shenzhen, Chengdu and Guilin I only seen 1 scan manned and they were not paying attention. If you do have flue like symptoms it does not mean there will be an issue. If you are concerned just get the injection and a letter from your doctor stating that you have had the vaccination.
