I know Tianjin pretty well but have never been to the port in Tanggu nor have I taken the light rail. Where is the station to take the light rail to Tanggu (I assume it's close to the Tianjin Railstation, but not entirely sure where), and what is the Chinese name of the port? Is it fairly close to the station? I've looked around but I'm not entirely clear what the answers are...

The Port is called Tianjin Xin Gang (天津新港). It is located close to Tianjin Tanggu Railway Station, not Tianjin Railway Station. By taking the light rail, you could reach Tanggu directly. The light rail could be found at Zhongshan Men, Donglu Development Zone~~
