About:China Customs Declaration

I am a US Citizen currently traveling in China and take various medications that are prescribed in the USA by my doctor. I need my refills and will have a family member mail this but I am not sure if this is legal or if I need to do anything prior to mailing this? Please let me know. Thank you.

Yes, that is allowed. You may have to pay customs for them before mailing.

My family was told by DHL they could not ship my medications to me but DHL said it could be done when I called online but stated that I needed to contact the bureau of health & sanitation to get clearance. Any idea about how to do this or a way to get this done?
