Hello,

could you please advice me on cheap accomodation in Harbin around mid/end of January? No further requirements than a place for the night...

Well, I think you could consider staying at the youth hostel in Harbin.

I am staying at the Zhong Da Hotel on Zhongyang Dajie street. I came here to see the ice festival and found this hotel in a "lonely Planet" book. Very affordable and pretty ok rooms. Also, Zhongyang Dajie street is an great shopping area and is pretty close to most of the sites worth seeing in Harbin.
